Job Title: Airport Manager
Location: Magee Municipal Airport, Magee, MS
Department: Public Works/Airport Administration
Reports To: Board of Aldermen and Mayor

Position Overview:
The Airport Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and development of the airport, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This position plays a key role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of airport operations while fostering positive relationships with tenants, community members, and aviation stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of Magee Municipal Airport, ensuring the safety, security, and efficiency of the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, state requirements, and local policies related to airport operations and safety.
  • Maintain and manage the airport’s budget to ensure financial sustainability and the effective allocation of resources for maintenance, capital projects, and operational expenses.
  • Develop and implement long-term plans for airport growth, infrastructure improvements, and modernization to meet the needs of aviation users and the local community.
  • Coordinate and manage airport-related construction, repair, and maintenance projects, including runway and facility upgrades.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government agencies, aviation authorities, tenants, contractors, and the general public.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of emergency response procedures and safety protocols.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to environmental standards related to airport operations, including noise abatement and wildlife management programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all airport-related inquiries, complaints, and issues from tenants, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular inspections of airport facilities, including terminals, runways, taxiways, and other infrastructure, and make recommendations for necessary improvements.
  • Prepare reports for local government, including financial reports, incident reports, and operational summaries.
  • Work closely with the Board of Aldermen and other city departments to align airport activities with community goals and objectives.

JOB DESCRIPTION FACILITIES TECHNICIAN
Reports To: Mayor and Board of Aldermen

Position Overview:
The Facilities Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks for various facility systems and equipment. This role requires a hands-on, service-oriented individual who can handle a variety of maintenance responsibilities and ensure that the facilities remain safe, functional, and presentable at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on the building’s HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems to ensure their proper functioning.
  • Repairs: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues related to building systems and equipment, including doors, windows, locks, and hardware.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility’s outdoor areas, including landscaping, parking lots, sidewalks, and trash disposal.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Conduct regular inspections of the building and grounds to ensure compliance with safety codes, cleanliness standards, and maintenance protocols.
  • Event Support: Set up and break down rooms for meetings, events, or special functions, including moving furniture, arranging tables and chairs, and setting up AV equipment when needed.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain and manage inventory of maintenance supplies, parts, and tools, ordering replacements as necessary.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies such as power outages, flooding, leaks, and other urgent issues to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety of all occupants.
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinating with external contractors and vendors for specialized services, ensuring that work is completed on time and to specification.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, inspections, and safety checks, including compliance reports, for review by supervisors.
  • Energy Efficiency: Help monitor and improve energy usage within the building by ensuring systems such as heating and cooling are optimized for energy savings and sustainability.
  • Security Support: Help maintain security systems, including ensuring doors and locks are functioning and reporting any security-related concerns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field.

Physical Requirements:
